It is currently raining ice in Kansas City.
The temperature was just on the edge of freezing, so the sleet melted when it hit the ground and then re-froze when the temp dropped to 27, leaving the city looking like it was picked up and dipped in ice. Everything is covered in a 1/4 inch layer of ice; roads, cars, patio furniture and sidewalks. Even my neighbor's American flag has solidified into a flat sheet. Through the windows the thump-thump-thump of people trying to crack the ice on their windshields is driving our dog apeshit. She thinks someone is knocking on our door. The cats could care less. They are curled up and sleeping in front of the heater vent. I think a Bailey's & Coffee or a Hot Chocolate & Peppermint Schnapps would be in order.
